Word file recovery

Once in a while a document in word opens with a message that the file is corrupted. Continuing to try and open the file results in garbage. Is there a way of recovering the file that has for some reason been corrupted?

Hi DSC,

It would help to know your version of Office and the OS but ...

Try ³uncorrupting² the document according to the instructions here:
<http://word.mvps.org/Mac/DocumentCorruption.html> Don¹t wait till it¹s too
far gone.

Are there many of these docs? Where are they coming from? Did you create
them yourself? Do they contain complex features (lots of graphics, tables,
etc.)?

The more info you can give us, the better.

No. When you see that message, Word then attempts to recover the file if
you click "Yes".

If the result was garbage, that's as good as it could do.

Sorry :)
