We have a problem where the files in a particular directory are all muddled
up in the file open dialog of Word 2000sp3 (on Windows XPsp1). It only
happens for filenames where the first few letters are the same. For example
the listing looks like
SomeA
SomeB.doc
SomeFileAAA.doc
SomeFileAAC.doc
SomeFileAAB.doc
SomeFileAAD.doc
SomeFileAAF.doc
SomeFileAAE.doc
SomeX.doc
SomeY.doc
Instead of
SomeA
SomeB.doc
SomeFileAAA.doc
SomeFileAAB.doc
SomeFileAAC.doc
SomeFileAAD.doc
SomeFileAAE.doc
SomeFileAAF.doc
SomeX.doc
SomeY.doc
It sort of looks as if it is doing alpha sort up to a point and then just
doing it as they come. The sort order in Office XP and Windows XP Explorer
are the way one would expect.
