Word files do not appear on screen after being saved

Trilby

I'm using Office for Mac 2004, on Mac OS X 10.3.9. When I save a
document, and the Documents screen appears, my file sometimes is
peeking out from the right-hand edge of the screen. There's enough that
I can put the cursor on it and drag it out into the open--but the
problem is, sometimes the file is nowhere to be seen.

I've tried enlarging the screen to see if I can capture the little
creature in some faraway corner, but often it seems to have vanished.
When I go through the "Save To" procedure again, the computer tells me
that I already do have such a file--but where is it?

Pop the Finder into List View and you will see it :)
