Word finder changes insertion point shortcuts

W

WordWonderer

After I've used word finder in Word 2003 (<ctrl>+<f>) I cannot use
<ctrl>+<pgup> or <ctrl>+<pgdn> to change the insertion point any more. It
simply finds the next instance of the word I was searching for in word
finder. It's like the shortcut was reassigned to the "find next" button in
word finder.

Please how do I undo or get rid of this very bothersome bug?

Many Thanks!

From Microsoft's point of view, it isn't a bug, it's "by design".

At the bottom of the vertical scrollbar there are double up and down
arrows with a circle between them. Click the circle and select Browse
By Page to return the function you expected. You can select to browse
by other things, such as fields, tables, pictures, etc.

Strictly speaking, the Ctrl+PgUp and Ctrl+PgDown keystrokes are
assigned to commands named BrowsePrev and BrowseNext, which move the
insertion point to the previous or next occurrence of _whatever_ the
Browse selection is set to. When you first start Word, it's set to
Browse By Page, but it changes to Browse By Find when you use the Find
function.
