Word flickers and hangs

Hi,

I have a Dell laptop running Windows 2000 SP3 with
Office XP SP2. When in Word the cursor flickers from the
arrow, to the hourglass, to the I shaped thing that
appears when you place the cursor over text. And it also
flickers the text every few seconds. It's like Word has
Turret's or something. I've changed laptops, I've
upgraded from Office 2000 to XP and it still won't go
away. Is there a known bug/virus that causes this
behavior? B/c after the last install it seemed to work
fine, now it's twitching again. I've asked around and
haven't found anything that works. I posted this last

week and heard back to try the speech recognition but it
wasn't turned on. Thanks for your time! Tyler

Wild guesses now, Office plugin from Norton? Turn off Items under
Autocorrect? Under Tools, Macro, Security change it to High and see you
catch a Macro playing around?
