Word Font Question

In Word I have set up my document using Times 10 point font but after
printing out the document I have run into problems with the size of
the font. I have been told the size of the font is actually 7 point.
Why does the font size in Word say it is 10 point but when measured
using a type size finder it comes out as 7 point font?

It doesn't, so there must be something else going on here. What type of
printer are you using? If it is a Laser printer, make sure that it is set to
print using downloaded (from the PC) TrueType fonts and not one of its
built-in TNR fonts.

In Word, make sure that you are not using the Shrink-to-Fit option. Try
testing using a different fonts - say Arial 12 pt and Bookman Old Style 9
pt - and see if the prints are correct size and font. This will tell us if
the printer is fully capable or not.

Other possibilities are that the text is formatted as subscript or
superscript or that the page is being reduced because the document contains
markup.
