Yes, that tells me exactly what the problem is
Regrettably, there is no solution to it!
WinWord can create chart graphics that Mac Word cannot convert.
In Windows, the charts are held in EMF. Mac Word needs to convert those to
PostScript in order to display them. If the chart is complex, it won't be
able to.
The best thing to do is to make sure that the originator of the charts saves
the DATA from which the chart was created into the document as an Excel
spreadsheet.
Mac Word can then re-create the chart if it has to.

Thanks for asking. I am trying to open a file that includes text and pie
charts graphics. This is a team project and i am the only one who have a mac
with word 2004 , the other teammates use windows word. We have been working
for weeks without any problem until we include some of the pie charts. When i
open i can see the firts page of the file,then a pop up windows appears
Graphic Filter "converting metafile" , it does this several times but it quits
the word program. I have try RTF and cancel the converting metafile but it
quits word. i have an expired tryial of i works and the file open completely.
