After updating to panther and installing updates to office 1.2, 1.4
and 1.5 word will not open up a document by clicking on the name -
either in mail or in a folder. It hangs and often indicates corrupt
file
if file open from word is used opens correctly - any fix known

Hi Robert,

Try repairing disk permissions:

For OS 10.2.x or 10.3:
Go to Macintosh HD/Applications/Utilities. Open up Disk Utility. Select
your hard disk, then click the First Aid tab. Click the button to "Repair
Disk Permissions".

For OS 10.1.5:
Download the Repair Privileges utility, free from Apple, and run it:

Hi Beth / Robert - I posted a similar problem (Word X will not open
after update to Panther) and Beth posted the same proposed fix.
Unfortunately, it has not worked for me, even after - uninstall,
reinstall, updates and repairing perms at each step along the way.
