Word Forcing 2.67" bottom margin?

R

Renee

Every once in a while (and right now in a critical document) Word will all
of a sudden force a bottom margin of 2.67". If I go into File Setup and try
to change the margins, it will tell me that the margins are outside the
printable area and do I want to Fix or Ignore. If I choose to Fix, it
changes the bottom margin to 2.67". I do not see anything in there that
would cause this. Any ideas? It has happen several times since I got Word
2002???
Thanks! Renee

I believe this is a conspiracy between your printer and Word, Renee. It is
sometimes quite impossible for Word to ignore certain parameters.

I simply use a text box which can be placed just about anywhere. I use a
text box for my letterhead Footer, for example, with a printed bottom margin
of only 0.7 cm.

You can, of course, ignore the Header/Footer and just place it at the bottom
of the page.

BTW, in case you didn't know, when Header/Footer is displayed, you can place
objects anywhere below the centre of the page for it to become part of the
Footer and it remains fixed what ever goes on above it.

Hope this helps.

It's you printer driver. Try either updating or re-installing the printer
driver. Updating to a newer version may also "fix" other issues that you may
have been experiencing, but never really noticed.
