Word format changes between users.

This is an ongoing problem that has existed through different releases of MS
Word. Currently we're seeing it in Word 2003. The problem is this: I write
a document formatted in Arial font (and my Normal text style is defined as
Arial). I save and close the document to a common location on our network.
Another person opens the document and sees it in Times New Roman font.

Similar changes happen with Indent alignments or page breaks - I save the
document one way and another person sees the same document differently. It
does not occur consistently, but it does happen often, and, in an environment
where our documents must adhere to a common standard, it is unacceptable.

So, does anyone have a suggestion as to what might cause this? Any fix
suggestions would be most welcome.

Turn off the option to update styles from template on all of your documents!

See http://www.shaunakelly.com/word/sharing/WillMyFormatChange.html for an
explanation of what is going on.
