word formatting problems

Hi,

When I bold, tab, or use different fonts, they do not get
saved once I close and open the document again.

Please help.

What version of Word are you using? It sounds like you've defaulted to
saving as plain text. Check Tools - Options - Save, and see if the default
format is set to something other than Word document (*.doc).

Alternatively, it's possible that you're stuck in Recover text from any file
mode. Check File - Open, files of type, and make sure it's not set to
Recover text...

Thank you so much!!! Your advice to click on Tools and go down to Options and then click Save so that I could take the check mark off Save Autorecovery Info has prevented any further formatting problems.
