Word Freezes in Notebook Layout when I insert bullets

I love the new notebook layout in Word 2004 for MAC. It is a very
convenient way to plan and compose documents, however, it frequently
freezes up when I try to insert bullets. I have tried both from the
formatting pallete and the drop down menu. It has been freezing up at
least half of the time. If I'm not careful to save before I try to
bullet a section, I naturally lose all my work because I have to Force
Quit.

Is there a way to avoid this???

Sorry: Even when you ask five times, we still do not have a good answer for
you!

Notebook view is not really a "View", it's a different Word document
structure.

It relies for its functioning on the nine Note Level 1 through 9 styles.

You will see that those styles already have a bulleted outline applied. If
you then use Format>Bullets and Numbering to change the bullets on "some" of
those paragraphs, you will set up conflicts that are likely to crash Word.

Sorry: I don't have an answer for you.

Cheers
