Word Freezes over network

Hey,
Im using Office 2003 on XP Pro and logged on to a Server 2003 Standard
Ed. Domain. I cannot do a save-as on large word documents to my server
without word freezing/locking the computer causing me to perform a hard
shutdown. I read about people having problems saving to Floppy disks because
of the temporary files that office creates when saving a large document,
could this be a cause of the problem? Is there anyway to direct the location
of the temporary files to my server? I can save the document to my C: drive
and then use explorer to copy the file, but that is causing much
inconvenience and I'd like my product to work the way it should! Please Help
ASAP! Reply to this or email me:

I'm not sure whether this will help or not, but have you tried checking the
box for "Make local copy of files stored on network or removable drives" on
the Save tab of Tools | Options?

I tried changing that setting and I am still having the same problem. I also
updated Microsoft Word, and turned off any save settings that i thought would
have prevented it from saving to the network. Any suggestions? Is there any
settings in Word to disable those ghost copies it makes?

I am unaware of any way to prevent Word from creating temp files as it
works; that's just the way it works.
