Word Freezes Up After Trying To Save to Floppy Disk

Several computers on our network are freezing up whenever our users try to
save a document to their floppy disk. This was a BIG issue with our Office
2000 users, but now our XP users are encountering the same problem.
Microsoft came out with a fix (they didn't post it, you had to call them for
it) for office 2000, but I have not been able to get one for XP.
Does anyone know a way to fix this?
Oh yeah...I did check to make sure it wasn't the computers or the disks that
were causing the problems.
HELP!

Do not save/open directly from any removable media.
Eventually you'll get corrupted (the floppy that is, not you!).
Save to the HD and copy to the floppy and v/v Copy to the HD and open from there.

You should not save files directly to a floppy disk or other
removable media from Office applications, because doing so
usually results in file corruption sooner or later. Save to the
hard drive, close the file, and then use Windows Explorer or My
Computer or your CD mastering software to copy the file to the
removable media.

You should not open files directly from a floppy disk or other
removable media in Office applications, because doing so usually
results in file corruption sooner or later. Copy the files to
your hard drive, remove the read-only attribute in
File->Properties, modify and save the file to the hard drive,
close the file, and then use Windows Explorer or My Computer or
your CD mastering software to copy the file to the removable media.

File corruption can occur when there is not enough space on the
removable media for the Office application to create the
necessary temporary files, and there is no way of knowing how
much space the temporary files will use. See

Word creates temporary files" for more information.

If you installed Windows update KB885250 "MS05-011: Vulnerability
in server message block could allow remote code execution", try
uninstalling KB885250 in Start | Control Panel | Add/Remove
Programs. This update is available as an individual update for
Windows 2000 and Windows XP, and is included in Post-SP4 Update
Rollup 1 for Windows 2000. If you got KB885250 as part of
version 1 of Update Rollup 1, then download install version 2 of
Update Rollup 1 to fix the problem. See
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=895900 "You cannot save a file
from your Windows XP-based or Windows 2000-based computer to a
shared folder on a file server" for more information.
