Word Freezes Upon Opening!

Hi,

I tried opening MS Word. It does, and it suddenly freezes. On the top, it
says "Not Responding". Has anyone experience this? If so, how did you
troubleshoot this? Is this common? Any help would be greatly appreciated!! I
believe the version I have is Word 2003. Thanks a bunch!
