Word freezes when open doc or save doc...

I was called to take care of a word problem on a peer to peer. All 4
computers were freezing when you would open word and then try to open a word
doc. Also when you would try to save a word doc. No security updates were
done, so that was not the problem. Word 2000 on 1 computer, word xp on
another and word 2003 on yet another. As word froze, I went into task
manager and started shutting down processes. When I got to "hpgs2wnd.exe and
ended that process word unfroze. A related file "hpgs2wnf.exe had to be shut
down too. These files are associated with a program "HP share to web".
Customer had this on all computers. Came with her digital camera software.
HP has nothing about this problem on there web site.
Good Luck.

Thanks for your input. I will go back to the site and check all the

See: You may experience problems in Windows Explorer or in the Windows shell
after you install security update MS06-015
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=918165

If you aren't comfortable with editing the Windows registry yourself, then
go to http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm and scroll down to Item
No. 383 "Hewlett-Packard's Share-to-Web software - Fix". Download and run
the script to automatically modify your registry as described in KB918165.
You may need to temporarily disable your antivirus program in order to run
the script.

A revised version of the update should have been released yesterday,
Tuesday, April 25, to fix these problems. It allows the old non-conforming
software (that they know about) to run. I don't know whether it was or was
not released. For the latest info, see
