Word freezes when pasting info

All of a sudden when I go to paste other text (i.e. from the internet) the
word document freezes. I have been able to paste into word documents
before...why is this happening now and how can I fix it?

When pasting into Word, try using Edit | Paste Special | Paste as:
Unformatted text.
