Word from Office 2007 H & S

How do I get the space count and line count to show on the bottom of the
screen when typing a document in Word? Only the word count shows.

I went to the Word Options page and went to both the Advanced and Customize
screens but neither had a "show spacing" or "line count" option.

Am I looking in the right place?

I've never seen that feature in Word status bar, any version. Look in
Review tab, Word count for totals for lines, words etc.

You can add Line Number to the status bar, which will tell you the total
number of lines when you are in the last one...

The space and line count used to be in the lower left hand corner of the
page, not the task or status bar, of my previous version of Word. I can't
tell you which version. It was preinstalled on an IBM laptop I bought 10
years ago.

As you typed the space count would tick off. You could also go anywhere in
the document, set the cursor, and the space and line position would be shown
for the cursor position. It was a great help to have those.

OK, I found it.
I didn't realize that I could right click on the bottom bar. I didn't know
that that was the status bar. I thought the status bar was one of the top
sections.

Thanks to both of you for the input.

You can have the cursor position indicated in that status bar, which is
what you are describing now, completely different from a line "count" or
space "count". Simply right-click the bottom of the window and pick
your options.
