Word gives hour glass too much

Hi,

I've recently installed Office 2007. I've found when a document is open it
will show the hour glass on the screen every 5 to 15 seconds, which pauses
the entire application for 3 to 5 seconds I've tried shutting down my
antivirus and starting up Word safe mode, which I saw in a previous thread.

I checked the auto save option and it is set to every 10 minutes. This is
basically make the application useless as it is so painful to type anything.

Does anyone have any ideas?
