if im using a smart art graphic - 5 text boxes in a circle
How do I add an additional graphic arrow between two of the boxes

2) if i have office proffesional 2008 for windows can i work with it under mac or do I need specific mac office 2008

The SmartArt diagrams cannot be altered. They are designed to provide what
is considered to be "standard" configurations. However, you can use the
other drawing tools to draw shapes & lines "on" the diagrams. You can then
select & Group the diagram with the drawing objects but the objects can't
actually be integrated with the SmartArt.

To your second point, there is no Office 2008 for Windows. I believe you
mean Office Professional 200*7* for Windows which will not run directly on
the Mac OS. It can be run on an Intel Mac using an Apple Boot Camp partition
or on a virtual machine created with Parallels or Vmware Fusion. Either way
you will also have to install an appropriate version of Windows OS.
