Word hang

Just today I have several user on the network that are having the same
problem. If the get into word and do file open...then click on the Look In
box to change folders...it hangs there for 10-15 sec. I also have the problem
in Excel but Wordpad and Adobe are fine. The server is SBS 2003 SP1, the
workstations are XP Pro with Office 2002 or 2003. Any ideas?

It sounds like a shared network drive either is offline or is difficult to
access.
