Word hanging up when typing

I was wondering if anyone else is having a problem with Word hanging up. The problem I am having is that when you type a letter, Word hangs. You have to click off of the document that is open and then click back on it. You may then be able to type several letters before it does this process all over again. I have uninstalled Office and then re-installed but I am having no luck.

This is a common problem with the 200 million users of word. Change to
another word processing package
