Word Hangs after update

Sal

Like a lot of people my word hangs after installing the security update
(KB908531) to Windows. I have tried lots of options suggested on the
Microsoft site, but none work. I want to uninstall this update, but when I
go to add/remove programs it is not showing so I can't uninstal it. When I
check using the windows update site it shows in the recently installed list.
Anybody help please.

Regards.

On the Add/Remove programs dialog box, check the box to show updates.

If you're using Windows XP, you have to check the "Show Updates" box in
Add/Remove Programs to ensure that it's listed.

Thank you so much for the solution to the problem that everyone else seems to
be having including me. I removed the update (KB908530), restarted my
computer and Word now works as it was doing before the update on April 18th.

Good one Charles.
I removed that dirty little update, but had already uninstalled and
reinstalled word with the predictable lack of success AND NOW I get a message
when I try to type in Word 2002 that "Microsoft Word has not been installed
for the current user. Please run setup to install the application."

My best guess is that I have Word reinstalled after uninstalling it, because
I can open a document in my file but when I hit the mouse to move the cursor
to type the above message comes up.

I don't know if this is the right place for a question about fixing this
related problem to the Update, but I will anyway.
Thanks, robj, Branson, Mo
