Word hangs... IE won't start... google toolbar won't search

Using 2007 trial (Office 2003 working on same machine... using Outlook '03
however)

What a mess... 1st had trouble getting trial... finally got it... word seems
a bit "buggy" however, love all the new features... decided to use current
project to test... oooppppsssss!!!!... Yes I know better... but...

Problem it hangs a bunch and I have to go to Ctl-del and kill process (kill
appl doesn't work)... at this pt. wish there was a "live" kill button... some
places I know causing... when you try number list in a table in a text box...
styles, but not sure why... just normal editing...

When word is up... IE doesn't load (even show on screen)... google toolbar
in start bar (sys tray) will activate a search, but never seems to get a
connection to google the icon just rotates away... (think the two are
related)...

Close word and the IE problem goes away...

It's hard not to want to multi-task in a multitasking environment...

Tried diag, repair and reinstall... nada!

Tried to contact ms via email... their support tool couldn't find prod id
and keeps telling me I entered an incorrect id... got it from word and
entered manually, same...

All in all a day where stuff happens :)
Any help will be appreciated...

Oh also Outlook 2003 stopped receiving email... finally traced to corrupt
ATT Sec Suite, reinstalled and that seems fixed...

Later...

The num list problem is probably a corrupt gallery setting in the Registry.
In the Registry navigate to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Word\List Gallery Presets

and delete the Gallery Presets key.

Then I suggest cleaning out the abandoned temp files from all the aborts.
See http://www.gmayor.com/what_to_do_when_word_crashes.htm

I'm not sure why Word stops IE running though. I suggest looking at the Task
Manager to see what happens in the running processes and with the CPU when
you start IE if Word is already running and also look at the event log from
any error clues. I'm guessing that the Google Toolbar problem is the same
problem.
