Hello,
One client of ours is having difficulties with the following problem. I
could also reproduce the problem on my own system.
When opening a Word document from a website (link to .doc file) the document
is opened within the browser. Thats's okay. But when I close the document
(clicking on the red cross) the browser window disappears, but is still
visible within the taskbar. Also the winword.exe process is still within the
windows process list. Opening a second Word document is not possible at that
time. When I kill the winword.exe process, the Internet Explorer windows
also disappears from the taskbar and the second Word document appears. It
seems like MS Word hangs on closing the document from Internet Explorer.
Does someone know a solution to this bug? Thanks in advance.
I am using the following config:
Windows XP-SP2 (all patches applied)
Office 2003 (MS Word 2003, build 11.6502.6408, SP1) (up-to-date with all
updates)
Internet Explorer 6.00.2900
The client uses the following:
Windows XP (I don't know if SP2 is applied, but I think so)
Office XP (all patches are applied)
Internet Explorer 6
With regards,
Richard
