Word hangs on opening

[Word 2001 and Suitcase 10]

The program Word 2001 seems to never open (colored pinwheel) when
I have Suitcase 10 open. I need to have Suitcase open to manage my
extensive font database, but need Word open to acquire docs. Help if
anyone has same problem and solution.

Have you "repaired permissions" recently? Are you on OS 10.2.8? Have you
tried launching Classic first and then Word 2001? What about RAM?

Office2001 Mac is an OS9-> Application. I'm not even sure it opens in
Classic in OSX.
The color Pinwheel was far as I know only show up in OSX.

There is a pinwheel of sorts in OS 9, but its Black and White and only
rarely (for me anyway) shows up.
