I just bought a Toshiba Notebook with Vista Home Premium on it.
I bought and installed Office 2007 Ultimate.
I now get a number of big problems that I don't get on my other machines
(e.g. Vista Ultimate, Office 2007 Ultimate).
1. Open Word - takes approx 3 minutes to open. Hangs with on the splash
screen and subsequently with "running viruse scan..." in the status bar. If
I delete normal.dotm then it will start in less than a second on the
subsequent start, however I have to delete the template each time to get a
fast start. If I open any other docuements, then it doesn't matter if I
delete the template or not - 3 minutes to open.
I then created a new user - same problems, but when hanging just before
displaying a new document, there is no "... Antivirus..." message in the
status bar.
I also ran the Office Repair. No change.
2. Outlook frequently freezes for 1 or 2 minutes.
3. Access couldn't open an Access 2000 mdb file.
4. If I double click on a file residing on the desktop, Word opens, but then
displays a message that it can't find the file.
Any thoughts anyone?
