Word Hangs upon changing language

PLease help me with this one.

I have a Japanese Representative with Windows XP Jap.
Version and Office 2000 Home Version Jap. also.

All the other apps are running ok, except for the WORD.

The problem occurs when you type in the words and in the
process of converting the text into japanese language.

I have downloaded and install the latest updates and
service packs for that office, but no luck.

I have tried to rename, delete all the .DOT but no luck.

Also i have uninstall/intall the word and service pack but
no luck.

I also tried installing English office XP but still the
problem of changing the character to japanese stops the
WORD from responding.

I have tried all the things I know but to no avail. Can
anyone help me with this one.

Thanks!

Cross-posting to a better newsgroup.

Are you up to date with Windows and Office service packs?
