Word has encountered a problem...

I use Word 2003 as my e-mail editor in Outlook 2003. When I have Outlook
open and/or Word open, periodically I receive the following error message:
"Microsoft Office Word has encountered a problem and needs to close...." The
error report contains the following information: AppName: winword.exe
AppVer: 11.0.8125.0 AppStamp: 45b6910c ModName: winword.exe
ModVer: 11.0.8125.0 ModStamp: 45b6910c

I have searched both the web and Microsoft's Knowledge base for this exact
message and can't find it. It is very frustrating because it happens
sporadically and often, and if it happens while I am typing an e-mail or
working in Word (which is the majority of the time), I lose what I am working
on and have to start from scratch.

Any help anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Gary

Dear Gary,

I have had exactly the same problems and error messages and also my search
on the Internet for the solution was to no avail. The problems seem to have
been resolved now. I uninstalled Adobe Bridge and Adobe Pro 8 some time
before the troubles with Word started, which were which was initially part of
Adobe Creative Suite 2, which I had temporarily installed on my computer.
Apparently, I needed to de-install Adobe Bridge and Adobe Pro 8 manually as
part of the de-installation of Adobe CS2.

Up to now, this seems to have done the trick, it seems that Adobe Pro 8
and/or Adobe Bridge were messing with the Word application. The error message
has as yet not returned (I'll keep my fingers crossed).

Perhaps you can also try to remember what programs you have been
installing/de-installing some time before you encountered the unfortunate
troubles you have been faced with?

Good luck,
Rieke

I attempted to removed the Adobe plug-in to Office to fix my users' issue,
however, it did not work.

When the user opens a Word 2007 document that was attached to an e-mail out
of Outlook 2007, he receives the 'Word has encountered a problem and needs to
close' error message.

At one time, this was happening after he opened a document and said No to
saving changes, but that seems to have corrected itself.

Any ideas?
