Word Help Error

G

Glenn Livet

Whenever I click on a "Play Demo" button in Word 2007 Help, Notepad pops up
along with a Notepad error message:

"The file name, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect."

No demo plays.

This is a new installation of Word 2007 and I am not yet familiar with it.

What is going on? What do I do about it?

Tia, Glenn

Thank you Beth.

But that's not it. JavaScript is enabled in both IE and Firefox.

Can you think of any other possibilities?

Did you try to manually navigate to the link? Right-click the link in Help
and then click Properties. Right-click the URL and then click Select All.
Copy/paste the copied link in your web brower's Address bar. Note the Select
All command will ensure you are selecting the entire URL since the entire
URL may not be visible.

If I Select All and copy/paste the URL I see more information, such as:
&type=mediaplayer&CTT=11&Origin=HA102802501033',884,540); I tried pasting
the copied URL in IE and that didn't work, although I'm fairly certain I
tried it before??

BUT, I think this is the link to Demo you are trying to obtain (I copyied
the asset ID and pasted in a working Demo):
http://office.microsoft.com/home/vi...540&startindex=0&CTT=11&Origin=HA102802501033

Does the above link work for you? Do you have Media Player installed?
