Word - How do I produce a summary of just the tracked changes?

Please help - I'm faced with a whole load of re-typing to do otherwise!!!

In Word 2002, or XP for that matter, how do you extract a new document from
an existing one that just contains all the tracked changes that have been
made to the original?

Alternatively, if you have deleted one paragraph and inserted a new one, is
it possible to copy and paste both the deleted paragraph (now with
strikethrough) and also the new paragraph (now underlined)? The standard
copy and paste method just copies the new paragraph and doesn't pick up the
deleted one.

Thanks alot...

Have you tried File, Print. Print What: Document showing markup

OR

Changing the view to Original showing markup (on the tracked changes
toolbar) Shauna Kelly Tracked Changes is good to google for more information
on tracked changes

Hope this helps

Thanks Sarah, but your first solution just gives me a printed version and I
need an electronic document.

Also, second solution still leaves me with all the unchanged text in the
original document, and given that it is over 100 pages, it doesn't help - I
need something that just shows the changes in 2-3 pages so that the changes
only can be distributed to others for further comment.

Any other ideas would be appreciated but thanks anyway!

Sarah,

Do you have any ideas regarding the 2nd part of my question - how to copy
and paste both deletions and additions to a new document?

Thanks,

Steve

What about File, Print, Print what: Markup List or as earlier suggested and
printing to a text file. You can install a printer from start, printers and
faxes, add a printer and add a generic/text printer. This will output the
information as a text file named your choice in your location

Hope this makes sense and helps more!

Perhaps print the screen, crop accordingly, and paste onto a new document to
show the changes?

Sorry if these replies aren't helping - i'm no expert - but I like to help
if I can as these forums have helped me so much in the past

Sarah,

Found a solution to my 2nd question regarding copying and pasting - you just
need to ensure that Track Changes is turned off in both documents before you
do anything.

I'm good to go now so thanks for your time.

File | Print ... Print What: List of markup ... and print to an Adobe
PDFMaker (or third party equivalent).

I know that means buying something, but I just tried it, and it took
about 5 seconds max. Pretty slick.
