Word hyperlinks on LAN

R

Raymond

hello. hope you can help.

One of the users on our network is loosing the functionality of hyperlinks
in word documents when he saves to the network.

We are using Word 2002 on Windows XP.

When Word documents are emailed to him and he saves them locally on his C:
drive he has the hyperlink, but when he saves the same file to a directory
on the file server the hyperlinks no longer work and he recieves an error
message that the address is not valid.

Comparing the hyperlink address in the edit hyperlink dialogue box after he
saves the document on the network indicates that some additional filepath
directories are listed.
Example: \\An_svrfile\groups\Water\FACILITIES\Fco-Vsw\Renovation_Project,
becomes
.../../../../../../groups/Water/FACILITIES/Fco-Vsw/Reconciliation_Project
and no longer works...

Hope you can help us and thanks in advance!

Raymond

G'day "Raymond" <raymond_oneill(REMOVE)@dec.state.ak.us>,

Hmm, first suspect would be to ensure File > Properties > Summary >
Hyperlink base is cleared.

Thanks "Word Heretic"
I checked the hyperlink base and it is clear.
The document in question was distributed as an attachment to several users
on our network, but only one user is experiencing the problem with the
broken/changed hyperlinks.
