Word icon locked file

If I lock one of my Word docs its icon changes.

FYI: Word vX 10.1.0, OS X 10.3.5

Currently one has changed to a AVI icon and another has two icons "on
top of each other" (hope that makes sense).

Not a big deal but curious as to cause, solution and if it indicates any
significant problem that needs fixing.

I don't know if this will help, but you need to update to (at least) Word X
10.1.6 (and OS X 10.3.6). It's worth a try. Also try repairing disk

OP here.

I was finally able to correct the problem by restarting the Finder. I
guess I had some type of corrupted icons.
