WORD Icon

I had a document filed in the WORD and suddenly the
standard WORD icon changed to a white icon containing the
microsoft logo with a black arrow pointing upward and
inward in the bottom left hand corner. Now I cannot open
the document and fear the contents may be lost. What does
this icon represent and how can I access the information.

The arrow just indicates it's a shortcut. It seems to have lost its
association with Word, however. You might try reregistering Word to see if
this helps; see http://www.mvps.org/word/FAQs/AppErrors/ReRegisterWord.htm
