Word is Extremely Slow to Paste Photos in Documents

Hi Everyone,

I'm using Words 2002 and I get a really long program pause when I go to past
photos into my documents (from the clipboard).

When I am using programs like Outlook (non-Word email editor) it pastes
photos immediately into emails/documents, but doing this in Word seems to
take forever.

Any ideas about settings I can change (perhaps within Word) that could speed
this up?

I'm having similar problems. I did find that if my pictures were saved .gif's
and I used Insert/Picture from File that it worked better. Copying from
another application and pasting into Word without saving the image first gave
me all kinds of problems.
