word is getting languages wrong

Word 2002 is very quick to spot my typing in other languages, but no
good at spotting English or proper names. How do I adjust the language
recognition parameters and triggers? It often gets French and Italian
mixed up, and doesn't seem to spot German at all. Nor does it spot English!

Automatically switching languages like this would be excellent if it
worked properly!
