Word is locked up.

How do I unlock a document? I can't get into ANY of my
documents.

We need to know how the document is locked. To help determine this, do
you encounter an error message upon opening the file? If so what is
it?

Do you see "document locked for edit" in the Status Bar? If that is
the case then it sounds like an activation issue. Did you activate
Office? Is your version of Office an evaluation copy? Has it been
installed on more than one PC? Note that Office XP is licensed for one
PC only and possibly the owner's laptop depending on your EULA.

Go to Help/Activate Product to either activate Office or to obtain a
phone number you can call for assistance in activation issues.

Would you let us have a few more details please. How are you trying to open
your document, what versions of Office and OS are you using, have you
applied servicepacks and patches and most important, are you using Norton
Anti Virus.
