Word is looking for my local network printer.

When using word on my lartop at my home office it works fine. I'm connected
to a printer thru my local network. When i try using Word in the feild it is
looking for the printerand locks with a error message (WORD HAS ENCOUNTER A
PROBLEM) I can simulate the problem at home by disconnecting my local network
cable and tring to start word. It locks up when disconnected and works fine
when connected.

Correct, Word MUST see a printer driver. It doesn't matter that you don't
have a local printer, just install the printer driver as though it is a
local printer and then Word will work fine all the time.
