Word is Not responding

Ok here is the issue I have 2 of several computers
running Windows XP 2002. On these 2 computers Word (a
2002 and 2000 release) is coming back with a (Not
Responding) mode.

These 2 computers are both running with the XP Service
Pack 1. I have several other machines that are not
having the problem but do not have the service pack in
them.

Does anyone know if the Word XP Proffesional version will
address the "Not Responding" issue or if this is a fix
they need in XP?
