Word keep "installing" same component...?

Howdy,

I am running Word 2002 under XP...

There are certain macros that I use regularly that are
behaving in an odd way:

When I launch the macro, I (briefly) see an Office dialog
that says (in effect) that I am trying to use a component of
office that needs to be installed. Then, a moment later that
installation "completes."

But, the next time I run the macro, exactly the same thing
happens, that is, the mystery component has to "install" yet
again.

What might this be about, and what can I do about it?

Sincere thanks,

S

Have the macros always behaved like this, or has the behavior changed? Who
created them?

Hi Stefan,

The behavior is new. I created the macros, used them for
about two years with no difficulty, but then had to
reinstall windows on the system.

When I re-installed Office, I started to have the difficulty
I described.

Thanks for any further thoughts,

Hi again Stefan,

I just noticed something else:

Moments ago, I clicked on my shortcut to launch Word. Then,
the "Windows Installer" dialog opened saying "preparing to
install."

Then, Word launched. (There were no macros involved.)

Thanks for your thoughts,
