Word keeps closing from compatibility issues, what now?

After upgrading from ME to XP Pro I Word closes afte 20 secs saying Word has
experienced a problem and needs to close. I reset compatibility, unchecked
the box for what system I had upgraded from, I have renamed the Normal.dot
file, run the compatibility wizard and still Word closes after 20 seconds.

Most likely you don't need any compatibility mode unless you're running Word
6.0 or earlier.

It was Word 2000, but then I added Office Suite 2003, it was doing it in
both. I think I figured it out. In the send error to Microsoft it detailed
the error starting HPZ.... which was supposed to tell me there was a problem
with my printer driver. I deleted the HP printer. Then reinstalled, gave up
the ghost and did Service Pack 2, I was sort of tricked by XP Auto-update,
but I can now open Word without it crashing.
