Word keeps crashing

Hi,

I have relatively new Powerbook G4 and have installedOffice version X
.. I have carried out all the relative update for this version of
office (update to 10.15).
I have recently been using Endnote 7 with my word documents and since
then word has been crashing after 2 min of opening a document. I have
tried disconnecting the Word from Endnote to see if that resolve the
issue. But unfortunately it doesn't. I have carried out the update
again, checked with Disk repair and still word crashes after starting
it up. This problem still occurs when I open documents that are not
associated with Endnote.

Could you please help in answering why this problem is occuring now,
as it has been fine for the last few months.

There is also no conflicts with fonts in the library section.

Hi Satish,

Have you removed the EndNote "Cite While You Write" (CWYW) add-in from your
startup folder? Quit Word and open Word¹s Startup folder:
/Applications/Microsoft Office (X or 2004)/Office/Startup/Word. Drag the
CWYW add-in to the desktop. Reopen Word and see if that fixes it.

Does this happen when you use a blank document or just on older
documents?

If its happening on new documents then it could be a corrupt template.
Try deleteing the normal template and emptying your trash.

When you are using Endnote on the mac it seems to be much happier if
you turn off (or don't use) track changes. As well you need to turn
off instanting formatting for this document. In Word go to the Endnote
Tools > Format bibliography > Instant Formatting. If it says disable
then click it. If it says enable then its off. Then turn off instant
formatting for all new documents by going to the Endnote CWYW
Preferences and tacking the tick out of the box for new documents.
