Last week I was working on several large Word files (Word2003, WinXP). All
files were saved at the end of the day Friday and copies were placed on our
network drive.
This week I can open and work on most of the files. However one file appears
to be un-openable. Whether using the file on my local HDD or the network
copy, double clicking on the doc or opening Word first, ..., attempting to
open the file will leave Word with an "infinite" hour glass icon. The title
page appears but behind the hour glass andWord does not respond. Until I kill
Word (killing the process via the Windows Task Mangler), the CPU usage is
pegged very high.
I've tried various methods that I know about for recovery without success.
Is there a way to recover this file?
