word locks up

when i click on word icon on desktop, the program starts to
open then locks up the whole computer. tried several
ways to correct - scan disk, disk defrag - no luck.
any suggestions.

This just started happening to me as well...
help! many important and urgent documents need to be
accessed!

I have been experiencing the same problem for more than a
week now. If i find the solution before you, I will let
