Hi Scott:
It's usually corrupted styles or corrupted list numbering. It can also be
an embedded object that is not supported on the Mac (e.g. An Access
Database).
In WinWord, save the document as a web page, close it, re-open it, and save
it as a document again.
That will clean it out so that Mac Word can get to it again.
Chances are the document is just about to die in WinWord too, this will fix
it for both. Warning: In WinWord, ensure you choose "Web Page", not "Web
Page (Filtered)". Word is actually saving in XML, not HTML. HTML will not
store enough information to reconstruct a Word document. If you choose the
filtered option, you lose this extra information.
I am more used to seeing documents Mac Word 2004 can survive that crash

I received a file (a reviewed copy of a doc I wrote with Mac Word 04)
which causes Word to crash every time (Office error reporter opens).
Word for Windows opens this file fine.
Any known issues which might cause this?
