Word Macro: How to convert capital letters to lower case letters

I hope someone can help me with the following problem:

I would like to write a macro for word that when I type a word in all
capital letters, I then can highlight that word and click a macro button or
shortcut key (i.e. press the CAPS lock key) and covert the highlighted
capital word to lower case word.

That would be re-inventing the wheel. Format > change case (SHIFT+F3 toggles
through the options) is built into Word to do this.

Or

Ctrl-Shft-A, the AllCaps command. Assign it to a different key combination
if you want.

The toggle option is excellent, but also check out an
expansion program called Shorthand at
www.pcshorthand.com. I'm a medical transcriptionist and
I use it to expand a few typed characters into commonly
dictated medical phrases to save my fingers the wear and
tear; it works in any program--Word, email, Notepad....
However, I also use it to do what you've ask and other
such things. For example, when I type "ucl" (my
ShortHand abbreviation meaning "upper case left"),
ShortHand highlights the word to the left of where I
typed ucl (removing the ucl of course) and uppercases
that word for me.

You may wish to look into Word's AutoCorrect feature for your abbreviations.
