Word Macros

N

Nigel Forge

I, with help from a Community member, created a macro that allowed user in a
locked word form to add a row to a table if they used the existing rows up.
It works great. However, when I sent it to another user to test the macro did
not work and when I checked the field the macro is not there. How do I send
the document to another site with the macro code embedded so that it will
work please?

Thanks

There are a number of ways:

1. The macro must be in the document. With this method however, the user
may be presented with a dialog telling them that the document contains
macros and they may disable it, or if they have the macro security set to
high, the macro will be disabled without warning.

2. You must save the form as a template and have the macro in that
template then have the other user save that template to their templates
folder and user File>New and select the template as the basis of the
document that they want to create. This method will overcome the above
macro warning/disabling issue.

3. You could distribute the macro in a separate template that the user
saves in their Word Startup Folder so that it is available to any forms that
you create that require the use of that code.
