Every time I open AND close XP Word, I receive a message that says:

"The macros in this project are disabled. Please refer to the online help or
documentation of the host application to determine how to enable macros."

It is innocuous as far as I can tell but it is just a nuisance to have click
off the message upon entering and exiting Word.

Does anybody know what's happening to cause this "error"?

Thanks!

Go to Tools | Macro | Security and change the security level to Medium. The
immediate result will be that instead of getting the "Macros are disabled"
message, you'll get a dialog allowing you to enable them if you choose.

You can probably avoid even that if you also check "Trust all installed
templates and add-ins" on the Trusted Sources tab. This covers all template
folders and Word's Startup folder.

Unfortunately, the trust does not extend to the Office Startup folder, but
there will probably be a check box in the dialog that allows you to "Trust
all add-ins from this source," which you can use for add-ins from, say,
Adobe.
