Word Normal Template - Gets Lost

Regularly, my Normal template (that I have spent many hours tailoring)
defaults back to the standard MS Word Normal template. This is infuriating,
as I spend a great deal of time preparing macros, setting fonts, languages,
customizing toolbars etc. only to have everything lost when Word decides to
dump my tailored Normal template.

What can I do to stop this problem?

Save your customizations in another template, placed in Word's Startup
folder.

Thanks Suzanne, how do I do that? Is the startup folder 'My Documents'?

No, the Startup folder will be something like C:\Documents and
Settings\<profile name>\Application Data\Microsoft\Word\STARTUP
