Word not responding

D

Donna

I am having a problem on two different computers. Both
computers are running Windows XP Professional and are
connecting to a server running Windows 2000 Server. I am
running Word 2003 on each machine. I am logged on to
each machine as a different user.

I can open Word without a problem. Sometimes it takes a
very long time to open a file, regardless of the file
size. Sometimes files open quickly. Sometimes after a
file opens I can edit it without a problem. Sometimes
the title bar has a "(Not Responding)" in it. Sometimes
the "(Not Responding)" appears right away, sometimes not
until I have been working with a document for a while.
Some files work fine one day and then have a problem the
next.

I am running Symantec AntiVirus Small Business Edition on
the server and the clients. Virus definitions are up to
date and virus scans run daily.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Windows 2000 server SP? Make sure that you have the latest SP for the
server.
